Ivan is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda, a member of both the Uganda Law Society and the East Africa Law Society. He is also qualified in International Commercial Arbitration (IcArb) & in plea bargaining. He is also a licensed Trade Mark Agent. Ivan is a corporate & commercial law practitioner with working knowledge in corporate affairs, banking & finance, dispute resolution, tax law & policy, contract negotiation & management, intellectual property, employment affairs and oil-gas & mining law. He has advised numerous clients in these sectors. He is currently the Partner heading the corporate & commercial team at Uniqus Advocates. Ivan also has a niche in project financing and he has advised numerous clients in this sector especially on large scale projects that include; agro-processing, renewable energy, infrastructure, manufacturing to mention but a few. He has experienced first hand the benefits of up skilling and building technical expertise in new and emerging areas of the law and he is keen to offer robust solution based advice to clients. Last but not least, Ivan is a researcher, writer and historian.
