I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Professional Secretary as well as a member of the Nigerian Institute of Professional Secretaries.I must confess that becoming a secretary became interesting after conquering the fear of the almighty shorthand. I am enjoying every bit of it because it is actually an ordained path to train me for the task ahead. I graduated with Upper Credit and I cannot forget that I led my department to a successful election before my graduation as the Chairperson of the Electoral Committee for that year. This position was something that was unanimously decided upon without my knowledge. Presently, I work as a Secretary at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. My profession as a secretary has helped me to build amazing relationship with people of diverse backgrounds. It has also enabled me manage and handle information aright.I love meeting, teaching and mentoring people and working in an academic environment has increased my quest for knowledge.My journey in the past few years taught me a lot, especially about the struggles of women. Many women are afraid of the unknown and being labeled a failure when their marriage crashes. I became convinced that I should lend my voice to this and share my story to encourage and support other women in this journey of single motherhood.My love for speaking, counselling and mentoring helped me to birth a baby called - ShEmboldens Hub. It is a place where awesome women connect to be better. The beauty of living is to impact positively, to this end, I have published 4 books, and I am also a co-author in an anthology of 15 women from across the globe. I have spoken at different events and platforms and I have also been featured on print media.I am a proud volunteer at TEDxBingerville and I have also won awards in recognition of being a Single Mom Enthusiast.I know you will agree with me that, when life throws lemon at you, you should make lemonade.
