Head of Information Technology and Risk at Tactical Leadership Programme

About

On the record

Possessing over 22 years' experience as a miltary leader, I have led teams responsible for a wide variety of engineering roles including information security, RF communications, secure networks and systems design. I started out in electronic engineering as an apprentice radar technician. However, as my career and branch have evolved over time, I have become increasingly focussed on information security and managing the associated risks posed to my organisation. I am ISACA certified holding both the CISM and CRISC certifications. I currently lead a blend of civilians, military technicians and their managers. As a team, we ensure that our organisation's information is protected and available (in the right format) when required. I am very much a people person who leads by example, through inclusion and empowerment. I am skilled in planning and delivering projects to strict deadlines and have a proven track record of motivating and training teams and individuals, managing limited resources to produce quality products in challenging environments. As a talented generalist I exploit my broad experience base to find novel solutions to ensure that targets are achieved. I am also very approachable and my career in the military has taught me to adaptable and of course, disciplined and resilient. I also speak Spanish to a solid conversational standard; my current team are exclusively Spanish, so I am improving this skill on a daily basis. My main passions are food, music and regenerative agriculture. I draw my inspiration from the no-dig movement, and the works of Ernst Götsch, Bill Mollison and PA Yeomans: My long term dream is to start a regenerative farm, focussed on natural resilience through biodiversity and carbon sequestration.
