About

On the record

A passion for sustainability without losing sight of the big picture. I work on understanding complex Social-Ecological Systems (SES), and defining/implementing solutions for sustainability transitions. My academic work (teaching and research) fits within the fields of Ecological Economics, Industrial Ecology, and Political Ecology, being particularly related to the application of macroeconomic Multi-Regional Input-Output models to (among other things) analyze Socio-Economic Metabolisms (SEM), track economic spillover effects, and assess sustainable consumption and production along global value chains. I complement this approach with systems analysis to understand the complexities that govern SES and SEM, and to evaluate the potential success or failure of proposed solutions. My project-management work focuses on advancing projects for sustainability transitions. This involves developing networks and collaborations across organizations, facilitating stakeholder dialogues, assembling and coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and supporting project planning, management, and funding.
