I have always enjoyed working with, and helping people! As a Facilitator Job Coach at MCG Careers as well as an Accounting and Payroll Instructor for ABM College, I have the privilege of working in the field I am passionate about as well as working closely with students to guide them on their career paths with confidence. Having the benefit of being a practicum and employment coordinator for many years, I am able to prepare students for the transition to the workforce. My experience working with financial compliance for government funded programs and loans allows me to understand the investment both the students and the government have put forth. Returning to school as an adult learner can have many challenges. I strive to make a students time in class not only enjoyable and rewarding, but show how their success is achievable. I include basic soft skills such as: time management, selfcare and mental health skills for my students while undergoing fulltime studies. Most post-secondary students are caring for family while maintaining fulltime jobs. This requires skills that don't come naturally. My 7 year career in adult education has always balanced effective learning strategies with company budgets and student success measures. My skillset includes: running full diploma program courses, customized workshops, tutoring, and goal setting meetings. I enjoy the challenge of fullcycle bookkeeping along with working with clients. My years of experience as an accounting assistant as well as running 2 home based businesses have provided a solid foundation in working with: deadlines, knowledge in multiple accounting software and database management systems, AR/AP, employee database management and payroll, accrual entries, monthly reports and financial statements.
