About

On the record

From my background as a pharmacist to my passion for sustainability issues, my academic and professional journey has been driven by a deep curiosity about the intersection between health and the environment. With a Master's in Environmental Health from Alma Mater Studiorum-University of Bologna, I've fully embraced the One Health approach, which sees human, animal, and environmental health as parts of a single interconnected system. My thesis, titled "Environmental footprint on cardiovascular disease: role of PM and SARS-CoV-2," reflects my passion for toxicology and my dedication to understanding how specific environmental factors impact cardiovascular health through the construction of an Adverse Outcome Pathway (AOP). In 2022, my career took an exciting turn when I joined the Innovamol team as a Scientific Data Scientist, where I had the opportunity to work with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) on the development of the IUCLID database. This project, focused on analyzing non-clinical studies on animals and human information related to 530 approved drugs, has reinforced my commitment to developing alternative methods to animal testing and analyzing toxicological data. My interest in the AOP model deepened in 2023, thanks to collaboration with the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) to examine the molecular events triggering celiac disease through systematic literature research. This experience, coupled with numerous systematic literature reviews for private clients, has solidified my skills in research and scientific evaluation. Through a methodical and structured approach, our research work aims to identify, evaluate, and synthesize all relevant research for specific scientific questions, contributing to a safer and sustainable future.
