For over twenty years I have been in management roles in tertiary education institutions and with the Australian Government, responsible for the delivery of corporate and academic management, project outcomes, project management, human resource development, budgetary/expenditure setting and review, and monitoring and evaluation. My experience across multiple institutions has provided me with a thorough understanding of academic administration and governance, learning and teaching, research and professional development in post-secondary education settings. I have managed multi-campus and multi-institution projects providing leadership, co-ordination and support and am acutely cognisant of the need to manage equity across multi-campus institutions. In 2013, I decided to seek out opportunities to apply my knowledge and skills in the South Pacific and chose Fiji as my new home. I have a strong understanding of Pacific culture and have gained significant Pacific experience since making the Pacific my home and workplace. Through this time I have both supported and enabled capacity development in the region, working with government representatives and regional agencies to assist in the achievement of national and regional goals. This has required public diplomacy, strategic project design and implementation, and strengthening local capacity in cross-cultural environments.
