I am a molecular biologist and biochemist with a PhD from Université Libre de Bruxelles and Université de Namur, where I focused on understanding the antioxidant mechanisms of extremotolerant organisms in extreme environments. My research uncovered fascinating insights into evolutionary novelties, and I am passionate about bridging this fundamental knowledge with meaningful technological innovations. Currently, I am a co-founder and postdoctoral researcher at AEON, a consortium I co-established with my PhD promoter and fellow scientists. At AEON, we are driven by the mission to harness nature’s biochemical strategies to create scientifically validated, natural formulations with applications across multiple industrial sectors. These include FMCG, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, animal feed and health, and preservatives. Thanks to an Innoviris POC grant, we are working to translate the findings from my PhD and other innovative research into viable commercial solutions that address critical needs in these industries. My work at AEON allows me to merge scientific inquiry with entrepreneurial action, with a vision to inspire nature-based innovation at the intersection of science and industry. I am deeply invested in understanding evolutionary biology while leveraging this knowledge to drive sustainable innovations and biotechnological advances that solve real-world challenges.
