About
On the record
I am a multifaceted human as are most in our age of technology with ever changing interests that range between creativity and academia. I am a super social African soul who participates and promotes a wide variety of social interactions. Growing up in a poor neighbourhood in Africa tends to instill empathy, compassion, generosity and a sense of Ubuntu (no, not the Linux platform but a Xhosa and Zulu word for togetherness) in people. Growing up in Apartheid South Africa I have learnt to voice my objections against any form of discrimination, anywhere it rears its ugly head. A passion for nature is another attribute I credit to growing up in beautiful Africa (yes, I am proudly African). I am a vegetarian who recycles and participates in eco initiatives whenever the opportunity arises but I don't pass judgement on others who don't. When I am not earning a living, I like to exercise (yoga, strength training and plogging) and have recently started to meditate. You can often find me in the local 'Makerspace' tinkering around a laser cutter, 3D printer or screen printers generally. I do have some entrepreneur/inventor aspirations and sell my handmade leather goods to friends. Music is certainly food to my soul which is why you will almost always find me listening or dancing to music with the occasional opportunity to find me DJing. My field of work is currently data engineering due to my recent ICT engineering studies in Denmark. My main focus is SAP, Oracle, SQL Developer and MySQL. I do intend on becoming an Agile PM which will combine my previous management experience, my Agile knowledge acquired in my studies and my social skills to manage a cohesive and efficient team of coders. Among the above mentioned languages I have also studied Java, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Assembler, C, C#.NET, ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVVM, WEB Services, ADO.NET.NET 4.5 (WPF, WCF, LINQ). Despite my focus on data engineering I am flexible and open to working with other fields and languages.
