About
On the record
During my doctoral research, I specialized in bacterial genetics, gaining a deep understanding of gene diversity and functionality. My expertise extends to metagenomics, particularly in the areas of shotgun and amplicon sequencing. Through this knowledge, my research team successfully uncovered the hidden diversity and functional potential of bacteria in epiphytic orchids. Additionally, my work includes elucidating the evolutionary history of bacterial species, allowing for accurate taxonomic classification and providing valuable insights into the diversity and relatedness of microbial communities. I am highly interested in the bioprospection of microorganisms, actively exploring diverse environments to identify and isolate microorganisms with unique biotechnological potential. This pursuit has led to exciting discoveries and has the potential to drive advancements in various fields. Furthermore, my personal interest in secondary metabolite studies focuses on understanding the chemical diversity and biological activities of compounds produced by microorganisms. By studying these secondary metabolites, I aim to uncover their potential applications in areas such as drug discovery, agriculture, and bioengineering. I am keen to collaborate with like-minded professionals and contribute to advancements in the fascinating realm of microbial research.
