Software Architect at Tuxera

About

On the record

I am an experienced software engineer, and for the last 13 years I've been working a great deal with flash memory technology and other non-volatile memory technologies, implementing control software for a number of different flash devices and taking part in designing a high-reliability block device for flash memory systems, including MLC NAND. For all those 13 years my company was called Datalight, but recently we merged with Tuxera, a company headquartered in Finland specializing in file system technology. Datalight also has significant investment and experience with file systems, and we are now one big happy family! Most of the previous decade before that, my work had been in the imaging products business (printers, scanners, etc), porting and improving upon Adobe technology for OEM customers. The last couple years of that were in the design and development of an interpreter for Microsoft XML Paper Specification, a part of the Vista Windows Presentation Foundation. Currently I am gainfully employed by a company I truly enjoy, but am always open to hearing of new opportunities. These don't have to be in flash memory or imaging; I have confidence in my adaptibility and I like to take on new things. Most important is that it be a good environment with fun people, and challenging work that requires me to do a variety of different things and work with other people rather than just write code. Specialties: MLC Flash, NAND Flash, NOR Flash, PostScript, PDF, C, C++, XPS, embedded systems, VxWorks, Tornado, JPEG, TIFF, PNG, HDPhoto
