With over 10 years of work experience in business, education, and public service, I am the former Mayor of Árborg, a municipality in Iceland. I have a Master of Business Administration from the University of Iceland, and I am a certified business consultant and financial advisor. I have also completed leadership and marketing programs from prestigious international business schools. As the Mayor, I work with the municipal council and the staff to manage the budget, services, and development of Árborg, with a focus on sustainability, innovation, and social inclusion. I use my customer relationship management and analytical skills to engage with the citizens, stakeholders, and partners, and to monitor and evaluate the performance and impact of our projects and policies. Before becoming the Mayor, I was a business manager at Landsbankinn, one of the largest banks in Iceland, where I oversaw the operations, sales, and customer service of a branch. I also have a teaching qualification and experience in teaching business courses at various levels. I am passionate about making Árborg a thriving and attractive place to live, work, and visit, and I am committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and excellence in the municipality.
