I am a strong leader in business and educational environments with experience, education, and qualifications gained through a professional career and academic achievement. My experience in private, public, and academic sectors includes program, event, and project management; coordinating, implementing and evaluating projects and programs; marketing, communications, and business development; external affairs outreach and collaboration; strategic planning and business analysis; and staff and volunteer hiring and management. My academic research addresses real-world problems facing both urban and rural areas from a public policy and planning prospective. My Ph.D. dissertation focused on food system transformation by supporting Community Food Systems, developing and implementing policies for sustainable urban and regional agriculture, and increasing food security by providing adequate and nutritious food. The secondary focus was on increasing resiliency in urban areas, especially relative to food access. I have conducted research on diet and nutrition, sustainable food development, and value creation for small scale farmers and food producers in the U.S. and Italy using ethnographic interview and analysis techniques.
