Green Municipal Fund Lead, Transportation at Federation Of Canadian Municipalities
About
On the record
I’m a stand-out impact-funding strategist with a deep commitment to community-led development. I’m known for finding ways through near-impossible challenges, crafting innovative and long-lasting programs from scratch, starting fun and values-based businesses and building creative and driven teams. As the Green Municipal Fund's Net-Zero Acceleration Programs Lead for Transportation, I lead the strategy for funding Canadian municipalities to advance innovative net-zero transportation projects including fleet electrification, transportation demand management and safe and active routes to school. Formerly, as the Manager of Climate Change Investments and Strategic Initiatives I created funding programs for the provincial government that resulted in over $500 million in game-changing funding of clean energy infrastructure projects in Nova Scotia. I also led the strategy for cross-sector program & funding development and implementation of the provincial climate plan transportation commitments. As the co-Founder of @UnleashSurf I built the world's first sustainable tourism company that exclusively catered to remote-working surfers. Having worked as Senior Strategist for Sustainable and Renewable Energy and, prior to that, Senior Analyst Intergovernmental Public Health, I advised the Chief Medical Officer of Health and Deputy Ministers on high-priority clean energy and clean transportation issues, and national public health policy. As the Built Environment and Active Transportation Consultant, I was instrumental in transforming active transportation and community transit to government-wide priorities. At Engage NS, I directed high-profile projects on Reconciliation and immigration to make NS a more inclusive and welcoming province. I recently led a successful refugee sponsorship initiative that brought 3 Venezuelan women to Halifax by fundraising locally and navigating near-impossible immigration roller-coasters. I was a 2015 Halifax Chamber of Commerce Agent of Change and I was noted to be a Top 50 Emerging Leader in Atlantic Canada by 21inc. I've had a variety of roles in my career including Executive Director of the Nova Scotia Sea School, project manager, consultant and strategist in the fields of adventure tourism, ESG, physical activity, public health, community development, built environment and experiential education.
