Osaka Business Development Agency, Creative Network Center Osaka MEBIC Director and Chief Coordinator Born in Osaka in 1962. After completing graduate school and working at a think tank, I became Director and Incubation Manager of the Osaka City Urban Industry Promotion Center Ogimachi Incubation Plaza Mebic Ogimachi in May 2003. I assumed my current position following organizational restructuring in April 2010. I was appointed Director of the Foundation's Innovation Promotion Department in April 2016, and Director of the Creative Industry Promotion Department in April 2018. In April 2019, the foundation was merged and reorganized into the Osaka Business Development Agency. I was reappointed in April 2023 after reaching retirement age, and continues to serve in my current position. During my time at the think tank, I was in charge of regional industrial policy, conducting research and making policy recommendations for government and other clients, and participating in projects such as formulating a manufacturing revitalization plan (Osaka City), formulating a medical valley concept (Mie Prefecture), and creating a second phase plan for Creation Core Higashi Osaka (Osaka Prefecture). At Mebic, we work to disseminate information about creators active in Osaka, build networks, and develop human resources, and we coordinate activities aimed at creating creative clusters. In addition, together with volunteers from industry, academia, government, and the private sector, we established the Kansai Network System (KNS), which is working to create informal communities and networks between industry, government, academia, and the public based on flat relationships.
