Versatile and Experienced (15+ years) Organic Chemist with a strong track record in developing innovative small bioactive molecules and biomaterials-derived hydrogels, renowned for their antimicrobial, antitumoral, shape-memory, self-healing, injectability, and printability properties. With a proven track record of 30 papers, 1 book chapter, 9 patents, 19 posters and 6 oral communications, covering synthesis, characterization and processing of several different compounds/materials, which proved leverage the knowledge in medical and tissue engineering fields. My experience extends beyond academia, with successful project writing and management roles including Co-principal investigator of a National project and significant contributions to European initiatives. Currently, I explore chemical functionalization of human-based proteins to tune hydrogel fabrication for cell encapsulation. I also lecture different subjects, supervised and mentored many individuals, and review for several international peer-reviewed journals. I am a passionate and tenacious person with a critical thinking, problem-solving, team player and easy to adapt to new research areas.
