To find the perfect franchise, buyers must first evaluate themselves. What are your personal goals? Which franchise concepts fit and provide the best return on your investment? By way of background, I am the owner of SeeFranchises.com a division of Business Marketing Services, Inc. located in North Carolina. I have a diverse background that allows me to help people who are interested in franchise ownership. I have also owned two franchised businesses so I have personally experienced what franchise buyers go through. I started in Corporate America working with Andersen Consulting as a senior management consultant and later at Mobil Oil Corporation in various financial management positions. In 1987, my wife and I took the equity in our home and purchased a wholesale graphics supplier to the sign and display industries. Over the next ten years, we transformed the business into a full service tradeshow booth and graphics manufacturer. In 1994, I started a business brokerage company working with both independent and franchised businesses. I sold my tradeshow business in 1997 and relocated my consulting practice to the mountains of North Carolina. These business experiences were rewarding and successful but taught me that corporate experience, does not totally prepare one for the challenges of business ownership. I made mistakes that many new owners make. That is why I like support provided by the franchise model for new owners. In Summary, for the last 21 plus years, I have focused on helping people find a business or franchise that is right for them. I reside in Hendersonville, North Carolina, have a BS from Clarkson University and a MBA from Columbia University. I have earned the accredited Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) designation of the International Business Brokers Association and I am a licensed real estate broker in North and South Carolina.
