About
On the record
There’s an image I’ve had for as long as I remember of myself as an adult sitting at a desk working, kids running around. Windows and glass doors opened up to a sunny garden. I used to think that I was drawing, being an artist, an architect – but the overall picture here is that I’m being creative and invested in my own workday. And I’ve come to realise that this image is my North Star. Through my education, work-life (and personal life) I have been thinking creatively – being creative – in different areas: art studies, translations, research, entrepreneurship, product design and ed-tech. For a long time I went back and forth between the academic world and the artistic path, until I finally realised that I could combine the passion for creativity, learning (more and better) and curiosity that lay at the core of both of these paths. That has not meant that the way towards the North Star is straightforward. There are multiple paths to follow - creating new ones as it happens - but they are no longer in opposition to each other, but complimentary. I don’t have to follow them all, or not all at once. That’s why I find myself today – multitasking, creative and curious - as part of Lexplore, managing and re-imaging the library service, as well as founder and editor of the Norwegian children’s magazine Leseplaneten.
