1.Developed the International Health Track of the Oregon MPH Program in 1993. 2.Developed the Health Policy and Management Track (collaborated with Jacque Jewitt, the Track was renamed Health Management and Policy Track) of the Oregon MPH Program in 1992 3.Assisted Taiwan's National Yang-Ming University to develop Taiwan's first graduate program in international health. 4.Visiting Researcher at Center for Epidemiologic Research at Universitet i Bergen, Norway in 1995; studied diet and environment's influence on Norwegians' health by comparing Norwegians and Norwegian immigrants in USA. 5.Visiting Professor at University of Tsukuba, Japan from Oct. 1998 to Feb. developed a model graduate program in international health for Japanese Ministry of Education. 6.Visiting Researcher at Taiwan's Bureau of National Health Insurance from March to August of 7.Visiting Professor at Research Center for Urban Safety and Security, Kobe University, from Jun. to Sep. of studied health care system's preparedness for disasters. 8.Visited University of Gondar, Ethiopia in 2007, and developed an MOU between Oregon State Univ. and Univ. of Gondar in 2008, and developed an International Health Research Team to collaborate with University of Gondar since 2007. 9.Served as a consultant for Taiwan's Bureau of Health Promotion, reviewed its national policies, and provided recommendations for Taiwan's health promotion prioriteis. 10.Invited speaker at the 24th Annual Conference of Japanese Association of International Health during August of 2009 in Sendai, Japan. 11.Established the official collaboration MOU between OSU and National Yang-Ming University of Taiwan in 2010. 12.Conducted a training workshop on health program assessment (together with Sunil Khanna) for MAMTA of India in summer of 2010. 13.Conducted a workshop on doctoral thesis research for PhD students of International Health at Tohoku University Faculty of Medicine, Sendai, Japan in August, 2011. Specialties: Health systems finance, Health system analysis and strengthening, comprehensive health development for middle- and low-income nations, citical international health, comparative health care systems, universal health systems, international health education and training, ethics in global health, and health development for refugees and IDPs, critical global health, critical public health, critical evaluation of internatioal health programs.
