Ahmed E•••, PhD, M.Pharm.Sci, studies zoonotic virus evolution towards mammals, molecular determinants of virus pathogenesis and replication, and controlling the emerging and remerging viral pathogens by developing recombinant vaccines and antiviral drug discovery. Over the past 17 years, he focused his research to monitor, characterize and develop protective/therapeutic interventions against emerging and reemerging respiratory viral pathogens, including influenza viruses and coronaviruses. Dr. E••• earned his Ph.D. degree in Molecular/Medical Virology from Institute of Medical Virology (IMV), Faculty of Medicine, Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany (October 2015).
