Growing up, I, like many children, wanted to grow up to be a superhero. As the years went on, I thought real-life superheroes were doctors, nurses, and surgeons simply because they save lives. With this in mind, I aspired to be in the medical field. However, I realized that I do not have a strong enough stomach to handle being a doctor, but I still wanted to change lives and be a superhero. After entering college with a general business major, I took some classes on Human Resources and realized the power of this field. People spend most of their lives at work and come home drained and frustrated, but what if they enjoyed what they did and where they worked? They could enjoy their day, come home cheerful, and use the rest of the day better! That is when I realized that although I can't help people live better by being a doctor, I can help them by creating a better work environment through Human Resources. This realization led me to change my major to Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources; with this, I added a psychology minor to learn how to understand others.
