I moved to Sydney in 2012 from the UK, where I qualified and taught at one of the foremost language colleges in the country. My experience in devising and delivering classes to students with a wide range of abilities is solid and well-tested. I have a passion for teaching pronunciation, coaxing consonant clusters and unfamiliar sounds from students of many L1 backgrounds. I am also experienced in teaching English for Health Professionals, having taught this course at SCE, I was aked to overhaul and redesign the syllabus for International House to reflect the diversity of medical professions and specialisms of our students, and to include real-world materials from the Australian Health Service. My particular strength is my ability to convey the technical requirements and achieve tangible results, whilst maintaining the interest and enjoyment of even the most reluctant students. By building and maintaining a strong rapport with students my classes become discourse communities in which students contribute greatly to their own learning and that of their peers.
