Ishmael A••• is a writer and researcher dedicated to the intersection of faith, science, and culture. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Physics from Michigan State University, where he applied his passion for analytical problem-solving in two separate NSF-funded research programs. A co-founder of the Thomistic Institute Chapter at Michigan State University, he is an active member of the national Thomistic Institute and the Society of Catholic Scientists. His writing on faith and culture has appeared in various publications, including ChurchPop, Catholic365, EWTN Great Britain, WherePeterIs, Liturgical Arts Journal, and the Detroit Catholic. He has also contributed several academic theological presentations. He has a proven ability to communicate complex ideas, a skill honed through his work as an 8th-grade math teacher, a university teaching assistant, and a student success coach with AmeriCorps, where he proudly completed a year of national service. In the summer of 2025, he was selected as one of 45 global participants for the EWTN Summer Academy in Rome, where his peers chose him to be the producer for their final small group capstone project. An alumnus of a previous study abroad program at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (the Angelicum) in Rome, Ishmael is excited to return there this fall to complete two postgraduate diplomas, continuing his work of bridging the scientific and theological worlds.
