I am a 5th year international student enrolled in the University of Florida’s 3/2 Accounting program, pursuing a Master’s of Science in Accounting, with an emphasis on Tax and an interest in ASC 740 (Accounting for Income Taxes). However, my road to this point has not been an easy one. In 2015 I was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, which I battled for the majority of my college years. Because of the circumstances of this illness, I lost all opportunity to participate in internships, organizations and volunteer activities. Despite the challenges and hardships which I faced, there was a lasting positive effect that was borne from my illness, I became a fighter and developed an immense drive to conquer any adversities that came my way. My drive to conquer any challenge became fully realized in 2020 as I finally overcame my illness and my academic successes lead to me being accepted into the Fisher School of Accounting’s 3/2 program. I plan to take this drive with me into the workplace and there will be no challenges or client issues too big to cause me to falter. I look forward to connecting with you and becoming an asset to your organization!
