I am currently in the fourth semester of the Master's program in Data & Discourse at TU Darmstadt. I deal with the question of how the topics of language, linguistics and literature can be understood through the use of computer tools. Seeing that my bachelor's is in Sociology and Political Studies, I have proven myself a fast learner since pursuing this degree. Through my degree programme, I have had the opportunity to work with large datasets. These include, but are not limited to the collection database of Sir Hans Sloan, corpora covering over 30 Newspapers in Europe, and texts corpora from British Literature and the New York times. We make use of linguistic and statistical methods to work through our data. Using software- I was able to make use of this interface to analyse, compose and create, analyse and formulate visualisations from this data. I have recently completed a collaborative project in which we have built a corpus of over 500 speeches from the United Nations General Assembly and Security Council. Using Canva and social media metrics analytics during my time as a social media manager for two businesses I have learned to analyse the data, increase the followers, sales and create and put out content for a target audience. I am currently working on a SERMAS project for Europe as an Annotator. In my team, we annotated and collected data as part of research towards artificial intelligence. I have also worked as a freelance journalist for one of the biggest newspapers in Namibia, namely the youth section The Zone. During my time on the Socratic Society and Model United Nations I gained the experience of project management, event and conference planning. I have also written articles about my experience during my 2017 ERASMUS student exchange experience. I am also a representative journalist for the Junior Achievers for Namibia. My artistic impression can also be seen from my own Youtube channel, because I edit the videos myself. I am also the owner of my own Blog and Podcast and managed to make it available on all streaming platforms and create the art for it using editing software. As per my communication skills, I have one year of experience of being a call agent under the Classifieds Customer Care department of Namibia Media Holdings, the largest media company in Namibia. I had to maintain a customer database for future reference by keeping records of customer interactions.
