By profession, Sanjay is a Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineer with over 32 years’ experience in the energy sector (O&G and Power). He is licensed in Kenya as an “Environmental Lead Expert” and “Safety & Health Advisor”. His expertise is in Environment and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Studies, Environmental and Social (E&S) Audits, E&S Due Diligence (ESDD), Safety and Health (S&H) training and Safety and Health (S&H) auditing, and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA). Sanjay is a Contract Senior Instructor for deploying the TapRooT® Root Cause Analysis system. Since 2005, he has been deploying the TapRooT® system in several companies in the Mining, Oil and Gas (Upstream, Midstream, Downstream), Oil Exploration Drilling, Construction, Power Generation and Chemical Manufacturing sectors respectively. Sanjay authored Kenya's “EIA/EA Guidelines for the Petroleum sub-Sector”, the “National Marine Oil Spill Response Contingency Plan” and the "Highway Emergency Response Plan". In 1998, he co-founded the Oil Spill Mutual Aid Group (OSMAG) in Kenya, a Cooperative for responding to tier II oil spills in Kenya’s territorial waters.
