Born in a farm family of India on August 17th, 1970; presently serving as Agronomist, with CIMMYT he is responsible for delivering sustainable intensification technologies for small holder farmers in Latin America. As Director of Research at Bihar Agricultural University, in India, he distilled research priorities of the state of Bihar, developed research implementation plans and formed research teams.This research program delivered four crop varieties and released eight farm worthy technologies for the state, registering 30 farmers varieties from the state; since he took up this responsibility in the university in 2011. Dr S••• was also involved in technically advising the state department of agriculture for sustainable development of the state. As Principal Scientist, with International Centre for Agriculture Research for the Dry Areas in Aleppo, he contributed sustainable crop management practices in West Asia and North Africa. He also worked with CIMMYT and IRRI and played key role in planning, implementing agricultural research activities sustainable agriculture in South Asia, especially in India. This research involves tillage and crop establishment option for crops like wheat, rice, lentils etc which were effective in reducing cost and enhancing productivity and profitability. He also served as Subject Matter Specialist (Agronomy) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Pratapgarh in U.P. and work hand in hand with the farmers for technology assessment, refinement and development for enhancing productivity of prevalent cropping systems while reducing its cost of production. The technologies developed by his research groups, benefited millions of rural poor. Visited and actively participated in research programs in many countries, Dr S••• is also invited as an expert by FAO, Rome. Dr S••• having experience of working in agriculture research and development is ready to take challenges and responsibilities for sustainable development through agriculture.
