Signalling and Systems Engineering Manager at Sel Rail Systems

About

On the record

I am a systems engineer, a signalling engineer and a naturally intuitive strategist and systems thinker. My methods are strictly assurance based – the development of requirements, their management through the project lifecycle, their V&V and their transition into asset management are central to how I work. In the signalling systems domain, I have been involved in design, construction and testing with my work for the past five years being mainly focussed on the development of CBTC projects. I am currently providing technical advice to RPV’s Rail Systems Transaction Director during development of the Rail Systems Alliance’s requirements and assurance processes. In addition to my engineering and systems knowledge I have fifteen years strategic and operations management experience having held senior organisational and operations management positions in Australia, Malaysia and the UK. I have started up and marketed new business units, developed new operating systems and change-managed these into operation. With the rail market in Australia rapidly transitioning from the previous relatively ad-hoc and informal ways of working to more structured assurance based and requirements driven methodologies my combination of systems engineering and rail engineering expertise is highly relevant. The addition of strong organisational and strategic management experience makes me extremely flexible and easy to utilise as I can manage operations and internal business improvement projects at the same time as driving business development, producing tenders and delivering projects.
