A Chevening Scholar, A••• of Buckingham Centre for Security & Intelligence Studies (BUCSIS), and a Captain in the Royal Bahamas Defence Force with approximately 35 years of service. Since he enlisted in 1990, he has served in the Military Operation Platoon, Training Squadron, and the Administration Departments. In 1994, he was a member of the 2nd contingent deployed to the Republic of Haiti for peacekeeping duties under the auspices of CARICOM. He is a 2002 graduate of The Royal Navy Young Officers’ Training at BRNC Dartmouth in the UK. He holds a BA in Public Administration and a MA in Administration from La Universidad Del Valle de Mexico, in Mexico. He has a MA in Security and Intelligence Studies from the University of Buckingham in the UK. In 2003, he undertook the Patrol Craft Officer Coastal Course, Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School NAVSCIATTS at Stennis Space Centre, Mississippi, USA. His appointments included Deck Officer HMBS Bahamas, Assistant Training Officer, Base First Lieutenant, Operations Officer HMBS Bahamas, and Commanding Officer HMBS Lignum Vitae and Commanding Officer HMBS Rolly Gray, Captain SOUTHERN COMMAND, Captain Coral Harbour, and currently Command Staff Officer HQ. His publications include The Marine Recruit’s Guide – a comprehensive guide for aspiring RBDF marines, ‘Barriers to collecting secret intelligence in The Bahamas’ in The International Journal of Intelligence, Security and Public Affairs, ‘The Marine Recruit’s Guide, second edition.’ and ‘Guardian of an Archipelago’ an analysis of The Bahamas’ link to the secret intelligence tradecraft and 'The Marine Recruit’s Guide, third edition.' Also,'Stepping out of the shadows: the legitimacy of The Bahamas' NCIA' in The Journal of Intelligence and National Security. He was awarded the US Army Achievement Medal, RBDF Overseas Campaign Medal, RBDF Good Conduct and Long Service Medal, RBDF Meritorious Service Medal, RBDF Distinguished Service Medal, the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Medal, BRNC Medal, as well as The Bahamas National Security Council Commendation. Also, he was awarded the prestigious Admiralty Binoculars from BRNC Dartmouth. In he was seconded to the Department of Civil Aviation for Air Traffic Control training at the Federal Aviation Administration Academy in Oklahoma, USA. In 2012, he was seconded to the Ministry of National Security where he developed a keen interest in security and intelligence.
