About

On the record

My teaching journey began in special education, working closely with students on the autism spectrum. Those early years shaped my belief that every learner deserves understanding, flexibility, and a learning path that honors who they are. Later, as a classroom teacher in Kindergarten through Grade 2, I developed a deep appreciation for the curiosity, creativity, and potential that young learners bring into every lesson. Today, as Head of Primary EAL at Achieve Xiamen International School, I draw on those experiences to lead with empathy and innovation. I’ve designed a differentiated EAL program that celebrates individuality and empowers multilingual learners to grow in both confidence and skill. My approach blends structure with imagination—supporting students’ progress through personalized strategies and meaningful, joyful learning experiences. Outside the classroom, I love sharing ideas with fellow educators across China through conferences and EAL summits. Speaking at these events allows me to collaborate, learn, and continue advocating for inclusive, dynamic approaches to language learning. I believe that when we teach with empathy, creativity, and intention, we give students the power to thrive beyond language itself. Let’s connect to share ideas about language learning innovation, creativity in education, and empowering multilingual learners to shine.
