I have had to tackle a wide variety of topics, ranging from culture, fashion and travel to news and politics, for both big and small publications. I am a competent speaker of English, Swedish and Danish. Journalistic Experience: 2011-2014: Have worked freelance for several magazine’s, been a supervisor in Master's Thesis, done some translation work and teached Creative Writing in an Institution, Hlutverkasetur, wich was established after the collapse in Iceland. A guide for Noaferðir, a Travel Agency for mentally retarded and handicapped people. 2009-2011: Editor for Hellan, a local newspaper in a small town, Siglufjörður, in the north of Iceland. 2006-2009: Journalist at which is an Icelandic news-website. 2001-2006: Journalist for Frettabladid – the largest newspaper in Iceland at that time. 1978-1998: Proofreader and journalist in Morgunbladid, the oldest and most established newspaper in Iceland at that time. Education: 1988: BA in Litterature, awarded by the University of Iceland. 1998-2001: Attended a course in Creative Writing and The Spirith of English at Emerson College, East Sussex, England, where I was also awarded a B in Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency. Other Achievements: 2006: I attended a journalist training programme at Nordisk Journalist Center in AArhus, Denmark. We travelled to Brussels and Strassburg to study the matter of EB, and to Vilnius, Kaliningrad and Berlin. 2013: Again I attended a journalist training programme at Nordisk Journalist Center in AArhus, Denmark. This time we travelled to Iceland, New York, Washington and Tampa Bay. I have represented the Icelandic Union of Journalists at the Nordic Freelance-Seminar, for which I have travelled to Norway, Denmark and AAlandseyjar.
