Senior Researcher - Post-quantum Cryptographer at National Applied Research Laboratories, Narlabs
About
On the record
15 years+ experience in the industry- 15 years+ experience in research and development- My research fields are Post-Quantum Cryptography, Traditional Cryptography, Algebra and Number Theory. Studies- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University - NYCU)- Ph.D. in Computer Science & Information Engineering at National Taiwan University (- NTU)- Master in Mathematics at National Taiwan University (- NTU)- In January 2023, I was promoted as a Senior Researcher (Senior post-quantum cryptographer) fully-funded by the government at the National Institute of Cybersecurity (NICS) of Taiwan- During 2022, I was a Senior Researcher at the Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (CCoE), National Applied Research Laboratories (NARLabs). I was in charge of post-quantum algorithms and post-quantum optimized hardware development using algebraic transformations- Focus on post-quantum modules in ARM CPUs and MCUs (microcontrollers). Interested entities in my research + Research grants- Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Taiwan- Ministry of National Defense (MND), Taiwan- Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA), Taiwan - Taiwan Semiconductor Company (TSMC), Taiwan. During 2023, my current research will be expanded at the National Institute of Cybersecurity (NICS), where my hardware implementations will be under the scope of national defense in the future. During my Ph.D, I got four research grants to explore the usage of Algebra and Number Theory in cryptographic hardware, and as a result I developed four advanced Post-Quantum cryptographic projects using Computational Algebraic Number Theory: 1) Post-quantum Asymmetric Key Cryptosystem: Design and Implementation: This project was funded by both Taiwan Semiconductor Company (TSMC) and National Chiao Tung University (NCTU). Term: 2016 - 2018. 2) Post-quantum Asymmetric Key Cryptosystem: Hardware Optimization This project was funded by both Taiwan Semiconductor Company (TSMC) and National Chiao Tung University (NCTU). Term: 2016 - 2018. 3) Anti ID-Spoof Framework This project was funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of Taiwan. Term: 2018 - 2022. 4) Internet of Things (IoT) Self-verification Mechanism This project was funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of Taiwan. Term: 2018 - 2022.
