As a World Customs Organization (WCO) Technical & Operational Advisor in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), I provide strategic guidance and technical support to WCO members and partners on issues related to trade and IP enforcement. I have been working in this role for over a year, leveraging my 22+ years of experience as a Senior Attorney at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), where I advise on legal matters pertaining to trade policy, regulations, and rulings. My core competencies include legal writing and research, litigation and arbitration, policy analysis and development, stakeholder engagement and communication, and IPR training and capacity building. I have a Doctor of Law degree from the Inter American University School of Law and multiple skills in courts, legal issues, and legal writing. My mission is to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of customs administrations and facilitate the protection of intellectual property rights in the global trade environment.
