About
On the record
I am a third year PhD candidate in the Haematology & Genetic Pathology department at Flinders University. In addition to my doctoral studies, I teach and demonstrate for topics in the Undergraduate Medical Science degree. My research is focused on investigating aberrant metabolism and fuel trafficking pathways in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, with an overarching goal to more deeply understand disease pathogenesis and develop novel therapeutics. I am also interested in science communication, and this stems from my passion to ensure science is accessible and understandable to all audiences. Finally, I have also spent the last couple of years as a student representative for other Higher Degree students within the College of Medicine and Public Health at Flinders University. This has included event organisation for students to facilitate professional development and network building, resource development for current and future students to get the most out of their candidature, and regular committee meetings with College executives to represent the views and opinions of students.
