About
On the record
As the Team Lead of the Therapeutic Living Unit at Lethbridge Correctional Centre, I lead a dedicated team in delivering structured, 12-step and evidence-based programming focused on addiction recovery and treatment for criminal addictive thinking and behavior. As a person in long-term recovery, I bring lived experience, compassion, and an unwavering belief in the capacity for change. My personal journey fuels my commitment in creating a supportive, accountable, and transformative environment for incarcerated individuals. The TLU operates as a therapeutic community within a correctional setting, emphasizing emotional regulation, personal responsibility, and pro-social development. Our programming integrates trauma-informed practices, dialectical and cognitive-behavioral interventions, and 12-step models to address both substance use disorders and the underlying thought patterns that contribute to criminal behavior. In my role, I oversee daily unit operations, mentor staff, and help foster a culture where positive peer influence and community responsibility are central. I work in collaboration with Alberta Correctional Services, health professionals, and community partners to ensure continuity of care and support each individual's journey toward rehabilitation and reintegration.
