Based in Oslo, Norway, founder of Intellinor AS, software engineer at core.Clients: Rubrikk Group AS, Norwegian, operating SERPs reaching markets across 4 continents. Their main business is aggregating ads in the marketplace for transparency, enriching them with information, radically enhancing millions of people’s ability to make better decisions. Working towards: the next-generation Search Engine and Data Processing technologies, leading the development team behind the fastest real-estate classifieds aggregator in markets such as Germany, United Kingdom, Italy, Switzerland, Kenya, South Africa, Canada and Australia, extracting data from over 20 countries, using multiple languages such as English, German, Spanish, Italian, Vietnamese and Bengali. My team’s responsibility: to collect ads from thousands of sources in different countries through file extraction/web crawling, to parse the raw data, transforming it into structured data, enriching it with metadata based on historical data, loading the transformed adverts into search engines, and ultimately exposing data either through APIs or SERPs — Search Engine Result Pages. My direct responsibilities- development, maintenance and compliance the search engine using Solr with the business requirements, balancing between the company’s customers with their budgets and taking to heart the user input while considering a mix of relevance, freshness and diversity of the data retrieved, providing the utmost performance- providing, maintaining and monitoring customized developed crawling, file processing and image fetching technologies, able to reach over 100 million adverts daily- development of scalable, performance driven, server-side rendered NodeJS SERPs serving organic traffic with SEO in mind and custom APIs for third party clients over the search engine- hosting customized Kubernetes powered infrastructure, serving both live traffic using cloud providers and offline processing using Rancher on-premise- as the tech-lead, in charge of the technologies and architecture of the tech stack, leveraging distributed systems, message queue based communication and microservices both in ETL pipeline and the search engine- team-lead responsibilities.I find myself to be language agnostic, leveraging the best technology for the right use-case, considering the other team members’ skill sets and following the latest trends. This ranges from Java in the Search Engine domain.NET/Python/Powershell/Bash in the ETL and NodeJS for live-traffic services.
