About

On the record

My academic journey in psychology began at Stella Maris College where I developed a strong foundation in understanding human behavior. Pursuing my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of Madras allowed me to deepen my expertise and gain valuable hands-on experience through internships in mental health institutes special schools and old age homes. These experiences broadened my perspective and fueled my passion for counseling. Specializing in various psychotherapy approaches including Egan’s model I discovered my strength in working with adults and individuals facing addiction. My approach is structured methodical and focused on guiding clients through their healing journeys with empathy and respect. My professional development has been enriched by training in areas such as conflict resolution leadership skills and health counseling particularly in managing stress addiction and cardiovascular health. Recently I’ve expanded my skill set through workshops and certifications integrating these insights into my practice to provide more effective support for my clients. Throughout my journey I’ve learned the importance of balancing independence with collaboration and I’m committed to continuous learning and growth. Dealing with my own mental health challenges has deepened my empathy and understanding qualities that I bring into every counseling session. As I move forward my goal is to establish a successful ethical practice where I can continue to support clients with a warm non-judgmental approach. I aspire to one day take on a supervisory role guiding others in the field while always striving to expand my knowledge and skills.
