About
On the record
Let me tell you a bit about my journey and how I got to where I am today. From a young age, I was driven by a passion for storytelling and a commitment to making a difference. In 2007, my hard work paid off when I was ranked 4th in the National General Secondary Schools Exam (Awael el Gomhoriya Thanaweya Amma). This achievement set the stage for my academic pursuits at Al Azhar University’s Faculty of Languages and Simultaneous Interpretation, where I graduated with honors in 2012. Alongside, I delved into media translation at The American University in Cairo, equipping myself with the skills necessary for a career in journalism. My journey as a senior journalist at The Egyptian Gazette, the first English-language daily in the Middle East, has been incredibly rewarding. Covering international conferences both inside and outside Egypt has broadened my horizons and deepened my understanding of global issues. In 2018, I expanded my knowledge by participating in a training program at the Swiss-Italian University, where I explored geopolitics and the new dynamics in the MEM region and Africa. This experience fueled my initiative, ‘Press for Sustainable Development,’ which earned me the Kuwait Royal Shield in 2019. The same year, I was honored at the Arab-Gulf Youth Forum for my contributions to journalism and environmental advocacy.November 2019 was a milestone when I was honored by the Universal Peace Federation at the Africa Continental Summit in Niger. As the first Egyptian to be named ‘Young Ambassador of Peace,’ I was recognized for my efforts in the environmental field. In 2020, I represented Egypt at the World Peace Summit in South Korea, a platform that amplified my voice on a global stage. The journey continued to ascend in 2023 when I received the ‘Champion of Change’ award from the embassies of Mexico, Canada, and Sweden, celebrating my trailblazing work in journalism and environmental advocacy. In 2022, I became the first female in the MENA region to win the African Union Media Fellowship. This accolade was a significant milestone. I am proud to be a certified mobile journalism trainer by DW Akademie, empowering others to tell their stories through innovative and accessible means. My passion for storytelling has also led me to create documentaries, and I'm now exploring the exciting field of data visualization. Every step of my journey reflects my dedication to bringing stories to life and driving positive change.
