Triangle Project

Challenging homophobia, transphobia and intersexphobia. Appreciating sexual, gender and bodily diversity. Triangle Project is a non-profit human rights organisation offering professional services to ensure the full realisation of constitutional and human rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) persons, their partners and families. We offer a wide range of services to the LGBTI community. These include a variety of health services, such as sexual health clinics, counselling, support groups, a helpline, public education and training services, community outreach and a library. Our three core services centre around Health & Support, Community Engagement & Empowerment and Research and Advocacy. HEALTH AND SUPPORT SERVICES The Health and Support Services (HSSP) aims to contribute towards the mental, physical and emotional well being of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex people by providing quality health and support services to them, their families and dependents in a holistic manner that takes into account the full mental, physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of people. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND EMPOWERMENT Community Engagement and Empowerment (CEEP) is focused on initiating, training and supporting LGBTI groups within the four focus areas of the organisation. Building community activism and advocacy through encouraging self-reliance and self-determination and creating spaces, initiating and co-ordinating activities for LGBTI expression. RESEARCH, POLICY AND ADVOCACY PROGRAMME RAP aims to generate an accessible body of knowledge on LGBTI issues through community-based research that informs activism and advocacy. The programme also promotes the rights of LGBTI people by engaging in advocacy at local and national level aimed at transforming legislation, policies and practices of various state institutions and civil society organisations.
