Weza Interactive Entertainment
Weza Interactive Entertainment is a Kenyan game studio telling African stories through games, interactive media, and new technology. We believe Africa’s creative potential is huge. Our goal is to unlock it by building games that feel real, local, and powerful — games that entertain, teach, and open space for African voices on the global stage. Founded in 2016, we’re based in Nairobi, with a small team also working from Cologne, Germany. We’re a tight, focused group of developers, artists, and cultural thinkers. We build our own games, and we also help others by designing training tools, education apps, and interactive experiences for companies and organizations. Our first big game, Mzito, is a myth-inspired mobile platformer that reached thousands of players worldwide. It helped put us on the map and led to support from the French Tech Ticket program in 2017. Now we’re working on Riziki, a rhythm game built for mobile that celebrates African music and dance. The game is about more than playing — it’s about bringing musicians, dancers, and players together in one creative space. We’re here to keep growing Africa’s gaming scene — not just by making great games, but by supporting other creators, sharing skills, and showing what African innovation can look like. Our aim is simple: to become a leading African game studio that shares culture, creativity, and new ideas with the world.
