The student branch is the organization for students and undergraduates. University of Moratuwa Student Branch has been founded in 2008 and since then been the one of most performing student branch of Sri Lanka section and in Region 10 while having 5 student branch chapters and Women In Engineering affinity group. Those student branch chapters are Industry Applications Society, Power and Energy Society, Robotics And Automation Society, Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society and Computer Society.
