The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) is a Commercial Statutory Authority (CSA) and is the water and wastewater management service providers in Fiji. The Government of Fiji started reforming the Water and Sewerage Department in 2009. From January, 1, 2010, WAF officially took over responsibilities, functions and operations previously carried out by WSD. The Water Authority of Fiji operate as a CSA. The first two years of operations are key to establishing the most effective culture and mix of people, processes, procedures, governance, equipment, policies and monitoring and reporting. 2020 will be WAF’s 10th year of operations.

It is responsible for launching more Greenfield microfinance operations in other Pacific Island countries such as in the Solomon Islands in the second half of 2012. SPBD plans to expand the network to other countries in the Pacific and Southeast Asia region and eventually to Central America and the Caribbean. Regulatory environment permitting, all of SPBD’s microfinance institutions will be registered as Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs). In 1973, we attained international recognition when we became the 118th member of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). For more than 50 years now, we have been providing humanitarian assistance to affected communities in Fiji. We are guided by & committed to the seven fundamental principles, inspired by the spirit of humanity and the strength of our volunteers. Today, we have 3 Divisional Red Cross Centres around the country. The National Office of the Society is located in Fiji’s capital, Suva where the Central-Division Red Cross Center Team is also based. Our Western Division Red Cross Center office in Lautoka covers the Western Division from Nalawa, in the Province of Ra to Sigatoka. The Northern Divisional Red Cross Center is based in Labasa on Fiji’s second main island, Vanua Levu and covers the Northern Division including Rabi and Taveuni. We have 16 Branches around the country with more than 700 volunteers. The Branches are located in Rabi, Rotuma, Seaqaqa, Savusavu, Bua, Taveuni, Labasa, Levuka, Rakiraki, Tavua, Ba, Lautoka, Nadi, Sigatoka, Suva and Nalawa.
