บริษัท สหการประมูล จำกัด (มหาชน)(“บริษัท”) จดทะเบียนจัดตั้งเมื่อวันที่ 2 สิงหาคม 2534 ในนามบริษัท สหการประมูล จำกัด ด้วยทุนจดทะเบียนเริ่มแรก 3 ล้านบาท โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อดำเนินธุรกิจด้านการประมูลสินค้าประเภทรถยนต์ ภายใต้การบริหารงานเริ่มแรกของ นายเทพทัย ศิลา ซึ่งเป็นผู้ก่อตั้งและบุกเบิกธุรกิจมาตั้งแต่เริ่มต้น เดิมผู้ก่อตั้งประกอบธุรกิจค้ารถยนต์มือสองต่อมาในปี 2534 ผู้ก่อตั้งได้จัดตั้งบริษัทฯ ขึ้นเนื่องจากได้เล็งเห็นโอกาสในการประกอบธุรกิจให้บริการประมูลรถยนต์ ซึ่งในขณะนั้นประเทศไทยยังไม่มีการดำเนินธุรกิจดังกล่าวอย่างจริงจัง จึงได้เริ่มทำการศึกษาถึงความต้องการของลูกค้า ตลอดจนแนวทางการประกอบธุรกิจการประมูลสินค้าประเภทรถยนต์จากหลายๆประเทศ อาทิเช่น ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา ญี่ปุ่น ออสเตรเลีย นิวซีแลนด์ เป็นต้น โดยบริษัทฯ ถือเป็นบริษัทแห่งแรกในประเทศไทยที่เปิดดำเนินธุรกิจด้านการประมูลรถยนต์ในรูปแบบเปิด (Open Auction) ซึ่งเป็นรูปแบบของการประมูลซึ่งผู้ที่ต้องการเป็นเจ้าของทรัพย์สินใดๆจะต้องแสดงเจตจำนง ด้วยการเสนอราคาต่อสาธารณะ หรือกลุ่มผู้เข้าร่วมประมูล โดยผู้ที่เสนอราคาสุดท้ายสูงที่สุดจะเป็นผู้ที่ชนะการประมูล ปัจจุบันนอกจากบริษัทฯ ให้บริการประมูลรถยนต์เป็นหลักแล้ว บริษัทฯ ยังจัดให้มีการบริการประมูลรถจักรยานยนต์ตลอดจนสินค้าประเภทอื่นๆ ตามความต้องการของลูกค้า เช่น บ้านและที่ดิน หุ้น เฟอร์นิเจอร์ เครื่องใช้ไฟฟ้า และสินค้าเบ็ดเตล็ดมียี่ห้อ เช่น กระเป๋า นาฬิกา (“สินค้าแบรนด์เนม”) เป็นต้น ทั้งนี้เพื่อตอบสนองความต้องการของลูกค้าทั้งผู้ซื้อและผู้ขาย ซึ่งไม่จำกัดแต่เพียงรถยนต์และรถจักรยานยนต์เท่านั้น ด้วยระบบการประมูลที่โปร่งใสได้มาตรฐานประกอบกับประสบการณ์อันยาวนาน ทำให้บริษัทฯ ได้รับการยอมรับและไว้วางใจจากสถาบันการเงินต่างๆ บริษัทเอกชน และองค์กรของภาครัฐ เช่น องค์กรเพื่อการปฏิรูประบบสถาบันการเงิน(ปรส.) ให้เป็นผู้ดำเนินการบริหารงานประมูลขายทอดตลาดทรัพย์สินทุกประเภท เช่น รถยนต์ อสังหาริมทรัพย์ ทรัพย์สินทั่วไป มาโดยตลอด
