Star Marianas Air (SMA) is U.S. Part 135 regional commuter airline based on the island of Tinian in the US Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Initially certificated in 2009, SMA provides scheduled passenger flights between Saipan and Tinian and Saipan and Rota. SMA also operates passenger and cargo charters between Saipan, Tinian, Rota, and Guam. The airline's fleet consists of 5 Piper PA-31-350 Navajo Chieftains and 7 Piper PA-32-300 Cherokee Sixes. Star's name comes from the first letters of the islands Saipan, Tinian, Aguijan, and Rota.
