Pdfm
PDFM (Pacific Architects & Engineers) is an American company, founded in Japan in 1955 to provide architectural, engineering and facility maintenance services. By the mid-1970s the firm had become a major international provider of facility operations and maintenance services, and the headquarters were moved to Los Angeles. PAE Design and FM was established at that time to continue the firm's operations in Japan. PDFM 's architecture and engineering group has designed an extremely wide range of buildings, which in many ways has mirrored the post-war development of Japan. Starting with an emphasis on infrastructure and industrial buildings, PDFM moved to office and apartment buildings in support of foreign investment in the 1980s, shifting to an emphasis on interior design and workplace restructuring in the post-bubble era, to a renewed support of foreign investment in the last few years. PDFM's facility management group has evolved from custodial and maintenance services to a full FM services provider, including life-cycle cost control and IT mission-critical systems performance assurance. PDFM provides FM services to a wide range of diplomatic, office and retail clients.

Satoh Hirotaka Architects
Design Philosophy We believe the meaning of design embraces not just form but also direction, goals, and the balance between cost, function, and other elements. Design means constructing new values and concepts. And we can build a best design. Our design process is rigorously rational and logical. We never design something we can't explain. Rational design may sound a lot like boring design, but our approach leads us to take a second, deeper look at what’s normally considered common sense. The result is an architecture that is at once logical and highly original.

Akiya2.0 Inc
Japan has an Akiya problem. Aging population and urban migration is leaving behind millions (and still growing)of abandoned akiyas, and resulting in the slow and quiet demise of hundreds of small historical villages in Japan. Plenty of people in Japan and all over the world want to help. But the path is not straightforward nor is it cheap. Current efforts usually involve the very rich and the very few; and feature more demolishing and less conservation. Our vision is to make it feasible for ordinary native landowners and newcomers alike to renovate individual properties, improve their assets and so reinvigorate their communities. Our unique model will multiply small localized efforts to create new sustainable communities that are rooted in history but also secure in their future. Akiya2.0 is committed to providing the best possible experience to all akiya owners old and new. We leave no stone unturned with boutique architectural design, omotenashi concierge services and an unprecedented owner feedback development system.

Terrain Architects
Established in 2011 in Tokyo, TERRAIN architects currently has two bases; one in Tokyo, Japan; and the other in Kampala, Uganda. We believe that architecture is a part of the “TERRAIN” it stands on. Beyond each site, a unity of architecture and place should also encompass topography, culture, climate, people and time. Wherever it is, there are constraints or limitations to a building’s design and construction. We recognize those ‘constraints’ as characteristics representing each place’s indigenousness, so we take them into account as positive elements of our design. In our design and construction process, we explore how architecture can utilize and maximize indigenous elements of each place.

Raymond Sekkei - Raymond Architectural Design Office
Our principle is not to limit to create simple external shapes, but rather to bring to life as faithfully as possible, the gist of architecture which is to materialize correspondences between “Nature and Human Being” and “People and Society.” From this principle alone comes the style that best characterizes Raymond Architectural Office, namely, reincarnate, the above principle in each and every building design. In addition, this principle complies very well with today’s world, where the issue of preservation of the environment is being reconsidered, and where energy saving techniques are greatly demanded.

Renovate Japan
A social enterprise that strives to reduce poverty and inequality in Japan. We make use of the vacant houses in Japan that are DURING RENOVATION as a free shelter, and accommodate people in emergency at the renovation completed rooms. They can participate in the rest of the renovation process and earn their living expense through hourly wage. This way, a decent shelter with a productive job can be provided for a certain period of time without losing potential profits. In the meantime, we help them proceed to the next step by the end of that period, such as to connect them to another occupation or adequate institution. After the renovation, we monetize the project by running the place as a shared residence, hostel, etc.
