Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH is also in close contact with companies for possible collaborations to support the European Capital of Culture programme. There are two key strands of DNA that form BBA. The Gallery and the Prizes. Both strands exist in order to champion arts and culture. Founded in 2017, BBA Gallery is Berlin’s breakthrough artist-led contemporary art gallery. BBA Gallery is recognised for its innovative and unique approach to the contemporary art dealership market. BBA Prizes are international open calls for artists and photographers. With two major group exhibitions a year, and a fundamental goal to empower emerging and mid-career creatives, the Prizes are another artery through which BBA champions the new talents it discovers. We believe that the artists who we discover via BBA Prizes are the names of tomorrow and will make a significant mark in the world of art. Many shortlisted and award winners have gone on to hold solo exhibitions and group shows at BBA Gallery. This unique process of driving visibility for emerging artists is part of the DNA of BBA.

Capitain Petzel
Galerie Gisela Capitain, Cologne and Petzel Gallery, New York opened a joint gallery in Berlin in fall 2008. The gallery, a 1,300 square meter glass-encased modernist building preserved from the Socialist Era, is located in one of the city’s historical landmarks on Karl-Marx-Allee in Berlin-Mitte. The former "Kunst im Heim" gallery of the GDR, is a classic example of East German Modernism, built in 1964 by architects Kaiser and Franek to house a display of fine and applied arts from the countries of the Eastern Block. Since 2008, more than 38 artists have realised ambitious solo exhibitions, developed on-site in the exceptional space, amongst others Karla Black, Barbara Bloom, Wade Guyton, Maria Lassnig, Sean Landers, Sarah Morris, Tobias Pils, Monika Sosnowska, Seth Price, Charline von Heyl and Christopher Williams. Capitain Petzel continues to present exhibitions of established international artists represented by the galleries in Cologne and New York, while simultaneously the gallery is developing an autonomous program with artists such as Andrea Bowers, Robert Longo, Matt Mullican, Amy Sillman, Peter Piller and Pieter Schoolwerth. A range of books and catalogues are available from all of the gallery artists.

Since it was established in 1991, Galerie Thomas Schulte’s ongoing focus has been placed on nurturing, supporting, and sustaining outstanding and inspiring artistic positions in international conceptual art spanning from the 1960’s to the present. Since 2006 Galerie Thomas Schulte has been seated in the landmark nineteenth-century Tuteur House in Berlin-Mitte. The prominent tripartite display window of the gallery’s nine-meter-high Corner Space was added to the building in 1913 by Hermann Muthesius, a famous early pioneer of German architectural modernism and founder of the association Deutscher Werkbund. Galerie Thomas Schulte—known as Galerie Franck + Schulte until one of the rst galleries to open in Berlin after Germany’s reunication. It quickly became known for its select exhibition program, which not only offered innovative and thought-provoking works by represented artists, but also created a platform for pioneering international artists in Berlin’s re-emerging art scene. Over the years, Galerie Thomas Schulte has represented world-reknown artists including i.e. Richard Artschwager, Alice Aycock, Richard Deacon, Rebecca Horn, Sol LeWitt, Gordon Matta-Clark, Robert Mapplethorpe, Allan McCollum, and Pat Steir. In addition, it also exhibited many other important artists including Bas Jan Ader, Alighiero e Boetti, Daniel Buren, Chuck Close, Helmut Federle, Michael Heizer, Magdalena Jetelová, Joseph Kosuth, Jannis Kounellis, Mark Lombardi, Gerhard Richter, Pipilotti Rist, Robert Smithson, and Keith Sonnier. Galerie Thomas Schulte regularly participates in major international art fairs including a.o. Art Basel, Art Basel Miami Beach, The Armory Show, and ARCOmadrid.

Offering workshops led by artists, with a focus on drawing and painting, since 2011. In addition to our studio workshops in Berlin, Germany we offer interactive online workshops. We offer introductory workshops covering visual literacy, such as Drawing Thinking, The Art and Science of Color, Drawing from Observation and Intro Painting. We also offer specialized professional artistic development workshops in drawing and painting, such as: Anatomy Drawing, Portrait Painting, Creative Painting and Drawing, Printmaking, Watercolor and more. We like to be inspired by urban structures and nature. Our focus is on permanent spatial installations, art on buildings and large-scale facade designs. Our focus is on permanent room & wall designs, as well as facades in and around public spaces. As artists we make use of different materials, techniques and media. We are inspired by our urban environment, with its straight-lined forms and the nature. The continuous artistic and creative development of our work is of vital importance to us. The special thing about the development of our creations is a fundamental, conceptual approach. We invest a lot of time and effort into research, conception and development of different styles & approaches. We develop all our projects in close and reliable cooperation with our clients. Rohnstock Biografien ist das erste Unternehmen, das sich auf das Schreiben von privaten Autobiografien, Firmen, Familien- und Ortsgeschichten spezialisiert hat. In jeder Lebensgeschichte steckt auch ein Stück Zeitgeschichte. Als Förderer der Erzählkultur entwickelte Rohnstock Biografien das einzigartige Veranstaltungsformat »Erzählsalon«. Erzählsalons sind ein wirksames Instrument, um lebendiges Wissen zu teilen, Erfahrungen weiterzugeben und Gemeinschaften zu stiften.
