Black Rock Senegal

Named for the volcanic rocks that blanket its shoreline, Black Rock is a multidisciplinary artist-in-residence program founded by renowned artist Kehinde Wiley in 2019. The residency brings together international artists to live and work in Dakar, Senegal for 1-3 month stays. Our mission is to support new artistic creation through collaborative exchange and to incite change in the global discourse about what Africa means today.

Oh Gallery

Nichée au cœur du Plateau, centre historique de la ville de Dakar, se trouve OH Gallery, lieu inédit pour l’art et la création contemporaine. La galerie accueille des expositions monographiques et collectives ainsi qu’un programme hors les murs allant à la rencontre des publics. La galerie contribue à impulser un rythme audacieux à la création contemporaine au Sénégal. Elle propose des événements et des expériences sur-mesure : moments privilégiés et personnalisés pour collectionneurs et visiteurs, afin de diffuser le plus largement possible la richesse ainsi que la pluralité de cette scène artistique. Les artistes exposés transforment leur singularité en dialogue et font de leurs origines hybrides, un écho franchissant les frontières. Leurs travaux présentés à travers le monde, parcourent les foires, biennales et autres événements sous le regard protecteur d’OH Gallery. L'ambition de la galerie est d’établir des liens forts avec les acteurs culturels qui l’entourent, en partageant des projets et en établissant des collaborations, qu’elles soient locales ou internationales avec les galeries, lieux alternatifs et institutions qui œuvrent à la construction collective d’un discours critique.

Yennenga Center

Based in Grand Dakar, the Yennenga Center is the first cultural center dedicated to cinema in Senegal. Created in 2018 at the initiative of Alain Gomis, a French-Senegalese director who has received several international awards, Its missions focus on film creation, broadcasting and training. The Yennenga Center is a place open to all and for all, a laboratory of creativity, discoveries of African cinemas and meetings. From September 2021 the Yennenga Center begins its training program in image editing, sound editing, mixing and colour grading. Twenty four young women and men from the continent, with an early experiences, will receive for free, professional training for two years. The call for applications will be communicated on our social networks in June.
