32 East
32° East is running the #BuildTheFuture Campaign to support the completion of the new 32° East Art Centre! The completed 32° East will provide a permanent home for artists in Uganda; nurturing community, inclusivity, and imagination through an active programme of residencies, workshops, exhibitions, and events. 32° East provides artists with the support, resources, and community they need to advance their craft, critically reflect our world, and imagine a new one. Phase I of our award-winning ecological centre can be found on Plot 212 Sonko Close, Kabalagala, Kampala and includes studios, a contemporary art library and co-working space, computers, meeting areas and lush garden. Our programme offers the visual arts community opportunities for connection through our monthly meet-ups and global networks, provides artists-in-residence with resources to advance their practice, and builds new audiences through Kampala’s longest-running contemporary art festival KLA ART.

He's the Eighth child of Kisense Asuman (Father) and Babirye Asha (Mother) In that very year his Father as Assistant Inspector Of Police (AIP) was given a transfer to Mayuge, in the Eastern part of Uganda. Where he went to His Glory Nurs. & P/S where he finished his Nursery Education for one year in 2002 He went to Baitambogwe P/S in P1 moved to Valley View Nurs & P/S and went to St. Jude Tadeo for P2 moves to Ikulwe P/S then moved to Kasuteime P/S due to Father's Transfer, Joined Top Hill Nur. & P/S for P3 and Joined Montessori Nurs. & P/S for P4 and back to Top Hill Nurs. & P/S to finish P4 and P5 then went to Lolwe Islands at Kandeege P/S for P6 then moved to Budaka FHP P/S to finish P6, Afterwards he joined St. Jude Tadeo Mbale in P7 then Kyebando P/S and back to St. Jude Tade

Kiggundu Art Studio
Kiggundu Art Studio is a creative art space in Uganda Kampala dedicated to nurturing emerging artistic talent, cultural dialogues and community well-being through visual arts, research, mentorship, innovation and advocacy. Founded in 2021 by Ugandan visual artist Kiggundu Rodney, the space aims at supporting emerging and under represented artists to not only grow their personal careers but also be dedicated to transforming lives in their respective communities using their practices. Through its flagship apprenticeship program “Metamophorsis” the space, offers a supportive one year experience that turns caring into community by providing skills, guidance, mentorship, and resources to these artists hence encouraging them to not only grow individually but also uplift one another.
