Artists Association Of Nantucket, Inc
The Artists Association of Nantucket is a non-profit cultural organization dedicated to fostering the growth of the visual arts on Nantucket. The island’s transformation from a fishing community to a summer retreat began after World War II. It has attracted artists for many years – John Steinbeck finished East of Eden here, Eastman Johnson, Tony Sarg, Elizabeth Rebecca Coffin, and Charles Green Shaw worked here. In the 1945, local artists and craftspeople formed an association “to develop Nantucket as a recognized art center, and to promote the education and interest of Nantucket artists.” They established a gallery on the island, and set high standards, with loaned exhibitions from the Whitney and the Metropolitan Museum in New York, and guest speakers such as Tennessee Williams and Thornton Wilder. Today, the Artists Association of Nantucket offers year-round educational programming for children and adults at the workshop, a full calendar of exhibitions at the Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, maintenance of the historic AAN Permanent Collection, and a lively schedule of special events. With over 240 artist members, we represent the best of Nantucket’s artistic and cultural community. It’s a vital and vibrant association and a rare link to the origins of Nantucket’s artist colony. The AAN relies on membership dues, donations, and fundraising to meet its financial goals. Members are artists and art lovers who take classes, visit our gallery, attend lectures and special events, and keep the arts alive and well on Nantucket.

Sewing Parts Online
Way back in 1997 George and Terri opened a humble vacuum and sewing supply store in Dickson TN, focused on top-notch customer service and quality service. There were many places that they could buy sewing machine parts from, but when it came to finding a compatible part, it was a real hassle even for sewing pros like them. In 2008, along with their son Jeremy, they decided to step into the online ecommerce market and began creating the largest online compatability matrix in the sewing industry. Tens of thousands of hours go into organizing and categorizing nearly every sewing machine part imaginable broken down by machine's brand and then model number. This type of organization makes finding your compatible part fast and easy. We currently offer over sewing machine and serger parts and accessories on SewingPartsOnline and add more every day. Today we continue to grow, never forgetting our mission to be 'customer obsessed' by providing the Sewing, Quilting & Craft community with old fashioned, friendly, first-class service with a smile! We love what we do, with over orders shipped worldwide since we opened in 2008, we will continue to expand the product lines and brands that we carry to provide the largest selection available.

Eugene Saturday Market
Since 1970, Saturday Market has been Eugene's weekly celebration of local artistry, food, music and culture. It's the oldest weekly open-air crafts market in the country. The Market provides a place for artisans to sell their handcrafted goods directly to their customers - everything at Saturday Market must be handcrafted by the seller. It also features fifteen food booths, and presents live local music all day long on the Market Stage. An estimated - customers visit the Market each Saturday. Since most artisans and many visitors are from the Eugene-Springfield area, local culture is both represented and strengthened each week as people gather to shop, eat, dance and just hang out together in the vibrant, bustling marketplace atmosphere. This weekly gathering place for informal interactions and commerce is the pulsing heart of Eugene, one of the few commercial enterprises still in existence after nearly 50 years downtown. Rooted in it's "hippie" heritage, the Market continues to grow and adapt to the present day. Environmental sustainability efforts such as sorting and composting of tons of event generated trash and the use of re-usable metal forks are important developments. Whatever adjustments take place, the original mission of the Market is strong and honored weekly, presenting a marketplace where artisans sell their own work directly to customers. Saturday Market moves annually in mid-November to the Exhibit Hall at the Lane Events Center and becomes Holiday Market. This beloved holiday shopping, food and music fest runs weekends from the weekend before Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve, giving local residents and holiday visitors the opportunity to send locally handcrafted gifts to friends and loved ones around the world.

Dharma Trading Co
Since we first opened in 1969, alot has happened. Dharma started as a yarn store and then added dyes for Tie-Dye and then fabric paints, then T-shirts, then clothing, and on and on. We opened another store in Marin County in 1975 and closed the Berkeley store sometime after. We started mailing a catalog in the early 70's and the mail-order sales quickly overshadowed the store's and became the focus of the business. Later, in the early 90's when the internet was born, we built a rudimentary web site for Dharma which was later, and continues today, to be developed and perfected by other talented people who work here at Dharma. There are now as many as 90 people working at Dharma full or part time. Hundreds of employees have passed through on their way to other lives. Some really great people who have joined in making Dharma an honest, straight-talking company! All the folks who work at Dharma continue to this day trying to keep Dharma a Fair, Honest and Straight-Talking company. Dharma's Guiding Principles Dharma Trading Co. was started in 1969 on the principle that it's possible to be involved in business while maintaining good ethical values. This is to say that one can be successful in business while acting honestly, truthfully and fairly. Therefore, honest, truthful and fair treatment of customers, suppliers and employees is the most important goal of the company while it tries to make a profit.
