The Bakers Dream Academy

The Bakers Dream Academy is a transformative initiative born out of a deep-seated passion for baking and a commitment to addressing one of the pressing social challenges faced by young people in Botswana. Many youths find their dreams of furthering education cut short due to failing their Junior Certificate (JC) or Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE) examinations. This reality, compounded by financial constraints, leaves them without the opportunity to advance to senior school or tertiary education, limiting their future prospects. Our mission is to create a platform that transforms and equips these young individuals with practical skills, entrepreneurial knowledge, and the confidence to build a better future. Through The Bakers Dream, we aim to bridge this gap by providing a space where young people can discover their potential and chart a new path to success. At the heart of The Bakers Dream is a clear mission-To transform lives by instilling essential life and baking skills-To equip young people with entrepreneurial training, empowering them to create opportunities for themselves-To provide a second chance for youth who have been excluded from traditional educational pathways, enabling them to support themselves, their families, and their communities The Bakers Dream exists to address the following challenges-Education Barriers: Many young people, especially those who have failed their JC or BGCSE exams, face limited opportunities to further their studies-Unemployment and Skills Gap: Without formal education or work experience, many youths are left without the skills needed to earn a living-Social Inequality: Financial constraints often prevent these young individuals from re-sitting their exams or pursuing alternative career paths. The Bakers Dream is committed to providing-A Culinary Training Program: This program equips students with professional baking and pastry skills, covering both the basics and advanced techniques.
